The Greatest Love

[The Lord says]
“ Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.”

The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying:
“ Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
If a man would give for love
All the wealth of his house,
It would be utterly despised.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
