We spent a lovely few days in Bath last month. It's a fascinating city, steeped in history. Our visit to the Roman Baths was so interesting; we both agreed that it's possibly the best museum/historical site that we've ever been to, certainly in this country. So definitely well worth the visit if you're ever in the area.

So, some highlights of the week:

1) The Roman Baths, as already mentioned

2) Visiting a spa, heated by the natural hot spring (only one in Britain). It was pretty cool, actually. There are 3 levels of pools and steam rooms, and the top level is out in the open on the roof of the building with a view across the city.

3) Looking around the beautiful Abbey

4) Visiting the William Herschel museum. Only a small place, but quite interesting.

5) At the end of the week, bumping into friends we hadn't seen for years, and enjoying a lovely meal and fellowship with them.

Photos below!

The baths - we weren't allowed to dip, unfortunately!

Our lovely (and slightly posher than we were expecting) hotel

Enjoying a drink in Chimichanga - great Tex-mex restaurant!
